Size Guide

Fitting Instructions (Size Guide Below)

The size of an Air Jacket is based on its length, i.e. the length of spine it will protect.
The Air Jacket should reach half way down the buttocks when deflated, this is to ensure it will cover the pelvis sufficiently when inflated.
It is important that there is enough room between the Air Jacket and the wearer for the Air Jacket to inflate without excessive restriction. We advise that the width of an average fist should fit between the Air Jacket and the wearer, or between the Air Jacket and Body Protector if one is being worn.
The Velcro straps should be adjusted accordingly, you may need to alter the it of their Air Jacket if you intend to wear it with and without a Body Protector.Cross Country number bibs should not be worn tightly with an Air Jacket.
Adult and Large Child size Air Jackets should not be worn by anybody weighing less than 6 stone*.
Childs Small and Medium Air Jackets should not be worn by a child weighing less than 4 stone*. * These weights correspond to the force required to activate the trigger system and should not be ignored.
